A Wicked Voice by Vernon Lee
Set in a darkly beautiful Venice where mystery waits round the corner of every alley and lurks by the edge of every canal. Our narrator is haunted by a voice so beautiful and so hypnotic that it can kill. An obsession about the meaning of the wicked voice drives our narrator to seek out the truth, and whatever that fated search may unlock.
